More Unique Results Please
A lot of time when performing searches on Google I'll come across 10 front page results and the first two results consist of links from the same source. A perfect example of the need for Google to reform it's search results is seen when doing a search for "lumberjack tools" When viewing this result I was astounded to find only one real link to an actual site in my results which was a link to lumberjacktools.com. In actuality the first three links point directly to that site and what's suppose to be the forth and fifth links point to Google shopping results.
The best thing Google can do for search and SEO is provide the consumer with a diverse selection of links that enable people to actually consume their search results. As for shopping results, why not provide them below "Show search tools" on the left or underneath the ads in the right rail.
If this trend continues many small business' looking to make it online will have a tough time when the top ten results are being monopolized by so few. I understand there a lot of money being made by Google but usurping general link results with what should be product specific Google shopping results can disable the will of many entrepreneurs and burgle the consumers time.
